The Art Violin Project; for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra.
43 Artists were selected to Design, Decorate, or Deconstruct a Violin.
Mine is an actual Violin which was donated by a local family for the project. The finished works were then auctioned off for the NHSO.

The Columns at Erector Square New Haven Ct. are a temporary site specific Installation. They are located in Building One at Erector Square, also known as The Parachute Factory. I Painted 10 Columns in total. They are 6 feet in diameter and 14 feet tall. Two are free standing and the others are half sunk into the wall. They run the length of the space in pairs about 20 feet apart from each other.
I have entitled the Installation "The Journey to Ithaca" after the poem "Ithaca" by Constantine Cavafy. Since it is 'Painting in the round' the experience is similar to that of Sculpture. They cannot be viewed in their entirety all at once, and the Colors change depending on your vantage point, or speed through the space. The viewer is engaged by the changing piece and becomes an active player in the interaction.
